For technical material providing instructions, for example, it is customary in English to use the word “Please”, as in “Please click here.” The Portuguese norm, on the other hand, requires a more direct instruction without this addition: “Clique aqui.” If analyzed inaccurately, this distinction many be construed as a crude form when compared to the source language, but in reality it is just a cultural adaptation to adhere to the style of such materials in Portuguese.
